How to Load a Rushcard

Before you can make purchases with your prepaid RushCard, you'll need to add funds. This wikiHow will show you a few different methods you can fund your RushCard including using Green Dot® Reload @ the Register, setting up direct deposit, going to Western Union, or buying a MoneyPak.

Using Green Dot® Reload @ the Register

Have cash for your RushCard as well as the load fee. Although RushCard does not charge a load fee, you might have to pay a third-party fee (up to $5.95) according to the retailer you go to.^{[1]

Go to an eligible retailer. You can go to any Walmart, CVS, Family Dollar, Kmart, Rite Aid, and 7-11. To find the nearest location, visit https://secure.attheregister.com/locations.
- With the RushCard app, you can see which retailers are closest to you.

Go to a cashier. Any cashier at any of these locations will be able to take your cash and load your card.

Give the cashier your card and cash. The cash should equal the amount that you're funding your account and the load fee.

Give the cashier your ID (if you're in a Walgreens or Duane Reade). If you're not at a Walgreens or Duane Reade, skip this step. If you are in one of those locations, you'll need to provide your ID for identity security reasons.

Setting Up Direct Deposit on the Mobile App

Launch the RushCard mobile app. With direct deposit, your paycheck will go directly into your RushCard each payday.

- The app icon looks like a bunch of white dots on a black background that you can find on one of your Home screens, in the app drawer, or by searching.
- Make sure you login.

Tap Direct Deposit Information. You'll see this in the main menu that opens when you launch the app and sign in.

Tap Complete Form. You'll see this yellow button below a block of text in the top half of the screen.

Select the amount you want to deposit every payday. You can choose to deposit the entire check or a partial amount.

Tap Send and select if you want to fax or email the form. Enter the email or fax number according to the delivery method you chose.

Tap Send Form. Your HR Department or Government Benefits Manager will let you know if there is anything else you need to provide.
- If you can't log in, you can always request a deposit form and fill in: "MetaBank" for Checking Account, "073972181" for the Routing Number, and "your 16-digit Direct Deposit ID number" for Direct Deposit ID. - Log in with your username and password.

Click Direct Deposit. You'll see this in the menu along the top of the page when you sign in.
- The Direct Deposit form will load on the left side of the page.

Click to select how much you want to deposit. You can deposit your entire paycheck or a set percentage or amount into your RushCard every payday.

Click to select how you want to deliver the form. You can pick to print the form, email, or fax.

Enter the required information for the delivery method (except printing). If you printed the document, you're finished and just need to hand it to your HR Department or Government Benefits Manager.
- You'll enter either an email address or fax number.
- Your HR Department or Government Benefits Manager will let you know if there is anything else you need to provide.

Using Western Union

Go to a participating Western Union. There are over 44,000 participating locations in the US. To find the nearest location, visit https://www.westernunion.com/us/en/agent-locator.html.

Complete the "Reload Prepaid" section of the Western Union form. You'll need your 16-digit card number, cash load amount, and the name on your card.

Go to a cashier. Any cashier at any of these locations will be able to take your cash and load your card.

Give the cashier your RushCard and cash. The cash should equal the amount that you're funding your account and the load fee (normally $3.95).^{[7]

Using MoneyPak

Go to any retailer that sells MoneyPak. There are over 70,000 participating retailers nationwide. Visit this site to find the closest location.

Locate the prepaid card rack. That's most likely where you'll find MoneyPak cards.

Take your MoneyPak and cash to the register. There's a fee of $5.95 that you'll need to add on to how much you want to load your card.
- The cashier can add $20-$500 to your MoneyPak.

Scratch off the silver coating on the back. You'll reveal a unique MoneyPak number.

Follow the on-screen steps to load the MoneyPak to your Rushcard. The card you enter will also be saved on your MoneyPak profile so you don't have to re-enter the card information if you buy another MoneyPak.
