Not having sound on your computer can be very frustrating to someone who is not computer adept. Before you throw you computer out the window or take it to a professional, try some of these steps.
Steps
-
1Buy speakers or headphones. Any should work if you are not concerned with the sound quality.
-
2Make sure you have not muted the sound. This is probably one of the most common reasons for no sound coming out of your speakers. Unmute is usually found at the bottom right of your computer screen and looks like a speaker with a X through it.Advertisement

3Make sure your computer's speakers are plugged in. Check the connections on the back or front of the computer. Also, some speakers require a power source, so make sure that it is connected to a power outlet and connected to the speakers.
-
4If you have gotten this far and you still have no sound, it may not be a simple fix. Somehow, your sound card drivers may have been deleted. Replacing them is outside the scope of this article.
