Whether you're avoiding the cost of calling to hear your voicemail or spam callers, turning off your answerphone feature with O2 is completely possible. It answers any calls you miss, but you might end up paying extra if you have to keep calling your voicemail to check it. This wikiHow article will teach you how to turn off O2 voicemail on your Android or iPhone.
Steps
Dialing the Voicemail Number (Quickest)
-
1Open the Phone app. You're going to make a phone call to an automated service, so open your preferred phone app to the keypad.
-
2Dial "1760" and press the "Call" button. Using the keypad, dial 1760. You may hear a "Your voicemail has been turned off" message before the call ends.Advertisement
-
3Test that your voicemail is off. Call your phone from another number and listen for your voicemail.
- If your voicemail was not turned off, try using the Android or iPhone method for disabling your voicemail manually.
- You can re-dial 1760 to turn your voicemail back on.
- If you previously had, or still have, the app TuGo on your device, it may prevent you from turning off your voicemail. To fix this, open the app on your phone (re-download it if necessary) and go to Settings > Turn off Voicemail.[1]
Manually Disabling on iPhone
-
1Open the Phone app. You're going to make a phone call to an automated service, so open your preferred phone app to the keypad.
-
2Dial "404" and press the "Call" button. You may or may not hear a "Your voicemail has been disabled" message before the line disconnects.
-
3Test that your voicemail is off. Call your phone from another number and listen for your voicemail.
- If it still has not turned off, try the steps to call 404 again before getting in touch with O2 customer support.
Manually Disabling on Android
-
1Open the Phone app. You're going to make a phone call to an automated service, so open your preferred phone app to the keypad.

3Tap Settings. This is usually the last option in the menu.
-
4Tap Voicemail. You might need to scroll down to find this option that's toward the bottom of the menu.
-
5Tap Visual Voicemail and make sure it's disabled. If it's still enabled, tap Visual Voicemail to turn it off.
