Popping open a “cold one” takes on an entirely new meaning when you make homemade beer popsicles. A beer popsicle is the perfect answer to a refreshing beverage on a hot day; plus, no can or bottle required.
Ingredients
- 6 limes
- 6 teaspoon light agave nectar
- 6 cans of your favorite beer
Steps
Method 1
Method 1 of 4:
Preparing the Popsicle Mixture
-
1Open one can of beer and pour it into a plastic party cup. Open each can only at the time you're making the popsicles, so that the beer doesn’t go flat or sit around too long.
-
2Juice 1 lime directly into the cup. Roll the lime softly on the counter before cutting open, to help release the juices. When squeezing the lime into the beer, hold the lime with the skin in your palm and the cut end upward. That way you eliminate or reduce the likelihood that seeds will fall into your brew.Advertisement

3Add 1 teaspoon of agave nectar to the cup and mix well. Stir for up to 15 seconds to ensure that the lime juice and nectar permeate the entire drink.
-
4Repeat for each popsicle you're making. This article has suggested six beer popsicles in all.

Method 3
Method 3 of 4:
Freezing the Popsicles
-
1Place the beer cup(s) in the freezer. Allow the popsicle to freeze for at least 3 to 4 hours––overnight is best.
-
2Remove the cup(s) from the freezer once the beer has frozen rock solid. You may want to test the beer by poking a small hole in the top with a toothpick or similar instrument. That way you can tell if the brew has frozen the entire way through yet.

Community Q&A
-
QuestionWhat are some substitutes for agave nectar? Can I use regular sugar instead?Community AnswerSyrup, honey, or brown sugar. As a vegan, I opt for honey rather than agave syrup, as agave syrup has to be sourced from more temperate parts of the world, and the transports are awful for the environment. Just make sure you buy ecological honey to benefit your local bee population!

Warnings
- Make sure the beer popsicles are clearly marked as “adult only” so the kids don’t get confused and go for them. Also, it's good to keep them out of reach from children.⧼thumbs_response⧽
