Ever wanted to work a device that needs batteries, but the battery slot is too big for your batteries to fit? Well, here's a way to convert smaller batteries into larger batteries (in this case, converting AAA batteries into AA batteries).
Steps
-
1Get your device that needs AA batteries and get your AAA batteries.[1]
-
2Grab some aluminum foil.[2]Advertisement
-
3Place the AAA batteries into your device's battery slot. You will obviously see some extra space in the slot, since the AAA batteries are smaller than AA batteries.[3]
-
4Rip a piece of aluminum foil and curl it into a small ball. The size of the ball should be the same size of the extra space in your device's battery slot.[4]
-
5Place the aluminum foil in the gap. The aluminum foil should be on the battery's negative terminal, not the positive.[5]
-
6Finished. Your device will be able to work.

Community Q&A
-
QuestionDoes it have to be aluminum, or can it be another metal?Community AnswerIt can be certain types of metal, but not all. Aluminum is the best because it can fit into small areas and it's foldable.
-
QuestionDoes this really work? When I tried it with my remote, it turned on and then off again.Community AnswerYou have to make sure that the foil is snug between the battery and the end, tightly wrapped, and the battery isn't loosely attached.
-
QuestionIf I touch the foil while the device is on, will it shock me?Community AnswerNo, it won't shock you. The power in AA/AAA batteries is not enough to shock you.
