Make a vertical fold.

  1. Take about 16" or an arm's length from one Obi end and fold it in half (vertically). Hold this end on your left. Hold the other side on your right.[1]

Wrap the Obi around your waist.

  1. Place the Obi over your shoulder. Then, while holding left end, wrap the Obi around the waist 2 times.

Make a triangle shape with the end of the Obi.

  1. Fold the right end to make a triangle shape. It should be narrower towards left.

Tie the two sides together.

  1. Make sure to tie so that the Left side is on top.

Tie the Obi in the back.

  1. Bring Left to the upper center and bring vertical line.

Open up the right side of the Obi.
