How to Save Your Progess in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum

Saving your progress saves the hassle of having to do those hard parts again. This is how you save, as in recording your progress, on Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum.

Steps

Go to the menu by pressing the Start button.
- If you have the setting on where you can pop up the Start button using X, you can use X as well.

Scroll down to the "Save" option and press A.

Press "Yes" on every question the system asks you, and don't turn the power off until it is done saving. Turning off the power while saving might corrupt your save file or not save at all.

What do I do if my game says there is already a saved game and I can't save?

You must delete the old game's save file before you will be allowed to save on a new file. To do this, go to the title screen, then press up, select, and B simultaneously.

Warnings

When saving, don't turn power off until it is done. If you turn the power off while saving, the game will get corrupted.
