  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups (473 mL) milk
  • 1/2 tsp. (2.5 g) salt
  • 1/2 tsp. (2.5 g) pepper
  • 1 tsp. (2.4 g) dried mustard
  • Butter or cooking spray

    Remove the crust from 5 slices of white bread, approximately 4 cups (237 g). Cube the bread into 1 inch (2.54 cm) pieces.

    Grate 2 cups (241 g) of cheese. You can use cheddar, Monterrey jack, Swiss or a mixture thereof. Save a handful of cheese to sprinkle on top of the egg bake before it goes in the oven.

    Chop 3 tbsp. (9.3 g) of chives or green onions.

    Chop up vegetables of your choice, such as green pepper, mushrooms, asparagus, seeded tomatoes or a mixture of all of them, adding up to about 1 cup (160 g) of vegetables.

    Cook about 2 cups (454 g) of bacon or pork sausage. You can substitute this with diced deli ham or Canadian bacon.

    Combine 8 large eggs with 2 cups (473 ml) of milk. Add 1/2 tsp. (2.5 g) of salt, 1/2 tsp. (2.5 g) of pepper and 1 tsp. (2.4 g) of dried mustard. Whisk well.

    Grease a 13 by 9 inch (33 by 22.9 cm) baking pan or glass casserole dish with butter or cooking spray.
