Lime twists are useful as a cocktail garnish or as a salad or cake decoration. They're very easy to make.

Ingredients

  • Lime

Steps

  1. 1
Wash the lime to clean it. Since the peel will come into contact with the food or drink, it needs to be cleaned. Wipe dry with a kitchen towel.[1]
  2. 2
Place the lime on the wooden cutting board.

  3. 3
Cut a thin slice through the lime. Cut as many thin slices as you'll need to use for garnish or decoration.[2]
  4. 4
Place the slice flat on the cutting board. Using the knife, make a small cut halfway through the lime slice.[3]
  5. 5
Pick up the cut lime slice. Twist the two sides of the cut (slit) in opposite directions. Then fold around. The lime slice is now a lime twist and is ready to use as a garnish.
  6. 6
Repeat with the remaining lime slices.
