Raise your Snapchat score by sending more Snaps

Are you curious about how Snapchat determines your Snapscore? The Snapchat score (Snapscore) is calculated using the number of Snaps sent and received and how often you post to your Story. While Snapchat keeps the other factors of your Snapscore a secret, it's likely that the score also takes into account how often you keep Snapstreaks, look at Spotlight content, and interact on the Discover page. It’s easy to check your score — it’s on your profile page! This wikiHow guide will teach you how Snapchat scores work, and give you expert tips for increasing your own Snapscore.

Things You Should Know

  • Snapscore is calculated using the number of Snaps sent/received, Story posts, and other hidden factors.

How do Snapchat Scores work?

  1. Snapscores are calculated using a secret formula. Snapchat hasn’t entirely revealed the factors that are used to determine a user’s Snapchat score, but they do list a few on their support page.[1]
    • The factors we know for sure (from the Snapchat support page):
      • Number of Snaps sent
      • Number of Snaps received
      • Posting Stories
    • Factors that might influence the score:
      • Subscribing to content creators
      • Browsing and interacting with content on the Discover page
      • Looking at content on the Spotlight page
      • Keeping your Snapstreaks
      • Opening the app after not being on it for a significant amount of time may increase the score

Increasing Your Snapchat Score

  1. 1
Send more Snaps. Sending Snap pictures and videos will increase your Snapchat score. Plus, receiving a Snap back will further increase the score!
    • Sending the same Snap to multiple friends won’t count for additional points.
  2. 2
Post to your Story. Posting Snaps to your Story will increase your score. Getting into a regular habit of posting will gradually raise it.
  3. 3
Add more friends. Adding friends on Snapchat means more people to exchange Snaps will, generating an even higher score.
