When you hurt someone that you love, it’s important to seek their forgiveness in hopes of moving on. However, in order to move on completely, you also have to forgive yourself, which can be a little harder. It can be difficult to cope after you’ve hurt someone, but if you apologize and find ways to heal, it will be easier to forgive yourself. If you haven’t yet, take responsibility for your actions. While you can apologize over text, it’s best to make amends in person. Tell them what you’re sorry for and how you plan to improve in the future so they know you mean what you’ve said. You might also ask them what you can do to make it up to them. For example, if you missed a date, ask if you can treat them to dinner another day.
