Do you like that song enough to download it? Myspace recently updated their media player so that it's no longer possible to download music for free through the site. You might think that you can no longer download the songs you want, but there are still ways for you to get your hands on the music you love. This wikiHow article shows you how to buy and download music from Myspace as well as how to get access to some old music that Myspace lost.

Method 1
Method 1 of 2:

Buying from Myspace

  1. 1
Go to https://myspace.com in a web browser. You can use any web browser to go to Myspace and find the music you want.
  2. 2
Type in the name of the song or band you want to find. You don't have to click a search bar or anything to be able to search the site. Instead, just type the song or band name, and the search results will appear in your window.

  3. 3
Hover your mouse over a result and the chain icon. You can look at the "Top Result" that's usually first on the search results list, or you can search through "Songs," "Videos," "Artists," "Albums," "People," and "Mixes."
    • When you see the chain icon, hover over it and another window will pop up. If you see "Buy Song," you'll be able to purchase and download it.
    • Some things, like fan-recorded concert videos, cannot be purchased from Myspace. If you cannot purchase the item, you can search again to find something else to buy.
  4. 4
Click Buy Song. You'll be redirected to an Amazon page where you can purchase the music.
  5. 5
Click Buy song. This is a yellow button that you'll see on the right side of the page.

Method 2 of 2:

Downloading Older Music

  1. 1
Go to https://archive.org/details/myspace_dragon_hoard_2010 in a web browser. In 2018, Myspace lost a bunch of songs that were uploaded to the platform, but you can find many (not all) of those songs in this archive.
  2. 2
Click click here to use a music search engine and player. It'll look very familiar - like the older Myspace music player!
    • The Hobbit, or search engine and music player, will take a few minutes to load all the songs in the archive.
  3. 3
Click the "Search Myspace Music" search bar. Instead of browsing the archive, you can only search for specific songs.
  4. 4
Enter the song you want to search for and press Return/Enter. You'll see how many search results you got for your query as well as a list of the different entries.
  5. 5
Click a song title to play it. While playing the song, you can also use the stop, pause, rewind, and fast forward buttons in the media player to control your music.
  6. 6
Click Download. If you want to download the song, click Download in light grey text under the song title.
    • Your file manager will open so you can download and save the file.
