Trying to figure out whether a certain Instagram user is following you? There are two easy ways to check—by searching your own Followers list, and by checking the other person's Following list. This quick tutorial will help you find out if someone's following you on Instagram using your Android, iPhone, iPad, or computer.
Steps
From Your Own Profile
-
1Open Instagram and tap the profile icon. The profile icon is the outline of a person's head and shoulders at the bottom-right corner of the screen. This opens your profile.
- If you're using a computer, click your profile icon at the top-right and select Profile.
-
2Tap Followers. You'll see this at the top of your profile along with the number of people following you.Advertisement
-
3Start typing the person's name or username into the Search field. It's at the top of the screen. As you type, a list of matching search results will appear.
- If you're using Instagram on a computer, you won't be able to search this list. If your Followers list is long and it's taking too long to scroll through, check from the other person's profile instead.
-
4Find the person on the list. If the person you're searching for is following you, you'll see their profile on your Followers list.
From The Other Person's Profile
-
1Open Instagram and tap the search icon. The search icon is the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen.
- If you're using a computer, just click the Search field at the top of Instagram.
-
2Type the person's name or username into the Search field. The Search field is at the top of the screen. A list of matching results will appear.
-
3Tap the person's name to go to their profile. Now you'll see the person's latest posts.
-
4Tap Following. It's near the top-right area of the screen along with the number of people the person is following. This opens a list of everyone the person follows.
- If the person's profile is private and you aren't following them, you won't be able to view their Following list. Check from your own profile to see if the person is following you.
-
5Find your own name at the top of the list. If this person follows you on Instagram, you'll see your own name and profile link at the top of the list.
- If this person also follows hashtags, your profile will be just below the followed hashtags.
- If you don't follow the person, check what the "Follow" button on their profile says. If it says "Follow Back," it means that they already follow you.
