Amaranto is set in a post-apocalyptic world, following a great war. This new world is split into various districts known as "Sects". The story follows Mio and her childhood friend Shizuku, who learn from their friend Yuuki about rumors regarding several recent "vampiric" murders and a girl in white. When one of Mio and Shizuku's classmates becomes a victim, Mio sets off to learn the truth behind the rumor.
