I refer to VN Episode 4 Alliance of the Golden Witch and the anime finale. In the anime finale, Battler's solution to the murder of Dr Nanjo in VN Episode 3 Banquet (anime episodes 17-18) is

During the time that this person's death was still unconfirmed by the red text, they murdered Dr Nanjo. It was only afterwards that Eva-Beatrice announced this person's death in red!

Seems to go similar in the VN (eg see here):

Battler says in blue (from the fandom):

However, their deaths were not proclaimed in red at the instant Doctor Nanjo died. Strictly speaking, it was in the fight between me and EVA after Doctor Nanjo's corpse was found. In other words, if someone was alive at the time Doctor Nanjo was killed, and then died before EVA made that proclamation, you can sew right through that crack!! In other words, it's like this. Someone who was first confirmed dead by EVA's proclamation was a culprit. They cleverly played dead earlier and waited for us to come and go...! Before their death was announced in red, we were made to think that they'd died. Then, they killed Doctor Nanjo...and later died for some reason! After that, EVA proclaimed their death in red!!

This seems to make sense in the VN Episode 3 Banquet of the Golden Witch: [PS3 Patch][Voices] Umineko Eva-Beatrice's Web of Red Truth. At 5:33, Eva says

The 15 people mentioned are dead.

However, in the anime, I don't think there's any mention of the deaths of, well, any of those 15 people. This is how it goes in the anime:

After Jessica was injured, Eva was under Battler's constant surveillance. At the time of Nanjo's murder, Battler, Eva, and Jessica were alive. (damn oxford comma. lol.) Therefore, Eva has a perfect alibi for murdering Nanjo. At the time of the crime, only Nanjo and Jessica were in the servant room. Jessica Ushiromiya did not commit murder! Eva and Battler weren't involved in Nanjo's murder either!! No more than 18 people exist on this island!

Question: Does the anime make an adaptation mistake, possibly in that they forgot to let Eva-Beatrice state that everyone else besides Battler, Eva and Jessica were dead or something?

A blog post: I found this wordpress post that says

Admittedly, some of the extra information was a bit mundane, but it helped drive home the idea of “this murder is unsolvable!”

I really don't find this extra info mundane at all at least in the context of Battler's refutation in the finale.
