Origami enthusiasts often use special origami paper to help them make their creations. However, if you're just dabbling a little or experimenting with this craft, you might want a way to try it with just simple printer paper. Start with step 1 to make a box using a regular sheet of paper.
Steps
-
1Fold the paper from the top to the bottom, and line the edges up nicely. Then make a crease.
-
2Fold the paper left to right, and make another crease.Advertisement
-
3Bring only the corner of the very top piece of paper to the left so that you have a triangle on the top. Make creases on the top edges of that triangle.
-
4Bring the right of the triangle flap to the left. Make the same triangle shape again with the top layer of the paper on the right.
-
5Bring the top left layer of that triangle to the right, and you should be left with an irregular pentagon shape.
-
6Take the top flap on the left and the top flap on the right, and fold them to the middle so that their edges meet. Then make a crease.
-
7Flip the whole thing over and repeat step 6.
-
8Fold the two inner corners up to form a little triangle. Flip it over and repeat.
-
9Fold the whole top flap up like this. Flip it over and repeat.
-
10Take the little triangles that we made and tuck them in the little pockets. Now flip it over and do the same thing.
-
11Open it. To do that, you have to pick it up from the bottom and open the box. You have to use your fingers to get the edges pushed back.
-
12Enjoy the completed box!
