In India, teas are diverse. They are spiced up. However, some are not served as tea bags. Tea powder is sold, and they are like small seeds. The method to make tea with them is slightly different.

Steps

  1. 1
Mix about half a cup of water and the same amount of milk and heat the mixture in a microwavable device or on the stove or in an electric kettle until hot.
  2. 2
Add in about two teaspoons of the tea powder/seeds and stir it. Be careful not to add more than that because the tea will become highly concentrated.

  3. 3
Wait for few minutes until the liquid becomes medium brown.
  4. 4
Turn off the microwave / stove / kettle when the liquid (tea) rises to the top.
  5. 5
Filter the tea into a cup through a netted device (sieve/channi). The powder/seeds should be held back, allowing the tea to collect in the cup. Continue until all the tea has been collected.
  6. 6
    Sweeten with honey or sugar.
  7. 7
Enjoy your piping hot cup of Indian tea!
