Ingredients
- Melting chocolates
- Chocolate chips or melting candy wafers
Steps
-
1Make a butterfly wing template on a sheet of paper.
-
2Cut a wax or parchment paper square for each butterfly.Advertisement
-
3Leave plenty of room to handle the paper after piping the butterfly on it.
-
4Fold each square in half and trace the template on the back.
-
5Use the fold as the body of the butterfly.
-
6Cut an empty towel roll down one side.
-
7Fold a piece of thin cardboard or card stock in half.
-
8Place it inside the split towel roll.
-
9Melt chocolate or melting candy wafers in a bowl.
-
10Fill a piping bag with the chocolate or melted candy.
-
11If you don't have a piping bag, cut a tiny hole in the corner of a plastic bag.
-
12Pipe the melted chocolate or candy on the wax or parchment.
-
13Use your template as a guide.
-
14Pipe a thicker line of chocolate or candy down the inside fold.
-
15This line connects the 2 wings and forms the body/antennae of the butterfly.
-
16Wait a few minutes for the melted material to set up.
-
17Don't let the melted material harden all the way.
-
18Lay the butterfly on the cardboard or card stock.
-
19Make sure the body of the butterfly follows the line of the fold.
-
20Place everything in the fridge or freezer for an hour.
-
21Remove the butterfly from the paper and put it on your cake.
