With sixteen pieces of paper and a little patience, you can have a cool decoration in 10 easy steps!
Steps
-
1Start with your first sheet of paper colour-side down.
-
2Fold it in half, crease well, and open it back up.Advertisement
-
3Fold all the corners to meet in the middle.
-
4Have your unit facing you so that it is shaped like a diamond (this is optional but makes the step easier). Fold the bottom half up to meet the middle.
-
5Repeat step 4 on the other side.
-
6Notice the left unfolded side (see picture). Fold that underneath the unit, stopping the fold at the line created by step 4 and 5.
-
7Fold the bottom half of the unit up to meet the top.
-
8You now have one finished unit. Repeat steps 1 through 7 on 15 more pieces of paper so that you have 16 units.
-
9Hold one unit in your left hand, so that the open part is facing the left. Hold another unit in the other hand, the same way. Notice the open part on the back of the unit. Slide the unit in your right hand into the one in your left--the two flaps slide into the pocket.
-
10Repeat the last step with the rest of your units, and you're done!
-
11Finished.

Community Q&A

QuestionIs it possible to make a 20 point star?Community AnswerYes it is, but it will be an origami star.
-
QuestionIs it possible to make a 50 point ninja star?Community AnswerYes. If you make a modular ninja star like Jeremy Shafer's 16 point ninja stars, you could make enough pieces to make 50 points, although the ninja star would be too big and cumbersome, and likely fall apart within 3 seconds after completion. If you wanted to make it a small 50 point ninja star you would have to use extremely small pieces of paper and make 50 of them, which is hard and takes forever.
-
QuestionWhat should I do if I don't have any square-shaped paper?Community AnswerYou can cut the paper into the shape of a square. Use a ruler to make sure it is square.
