How to Figure Out What Your Parents Got You for Your Birthday

If your mom or dad asks you what you want for your birthday, pay attention, and remember. It might be a big sign that they are going to get you something you want.

Check different spots. If you have done this before and not gotten caught, try in the same spot you found them last time. If you haven't, check practically everywhere. Closets, garages, bathroom cabinets, under the bed, behind furniture, etc. Some parents are very sneaky and might hide them in your room or a siblings room, so check there too. If they hide it in a workplace or friend's house, never go in there without asking. Some parents might hide it in a car, so if possible get hold of the keys, unlock it and search for the presents.

• Never check spots you're not allowed to go in.
• Don't look often, because if you always try to find presents, your parents may become suspicious of you looking for them because you might move stuff around.

Make a fitting excuse in case you get caught. For example, if you get caught looking in the pantry in the middle of winter, don't say you were looking for a swimsuit.

Sneak completely alone. Be quiet, sneaky, and quick. If you want to do it with a sibling or friend, make sure they are completely trustworthy.

Shake the presents gently once you find them. This will help to figure out what it is.

Observe the shape.

• If it's circular, it's probably a CD or video game.
• If it's short and wide, it's probably a book or piece of clothing.
• If it's large, it's probably some sort of toy.
• If you can't figure it out, open one side of the paper. Peek inside and tape it back together. Make sure it looks convincing. If it's in a bag, just peek in and put the wrapping back quietly.
