Bass are mostly known for their plastic likenesses on wooden plaques singing at random, but they're also fun to draw as actual fish. Learn how by following this tutorial!

Steps

  1. 1
Sketch a few shapes as the basis of your drawing. Draw two ovals (one much larger than the other) as shown and add guidelines for features.
  2. 2
Draw a half-oval for the open mouth. Also draw a circle for the eyes and add lines for gills. Add scales if you'd like to make your fish look more realistic.

  3. 3
Sketch in the side, upper, and lower fins. These should be small in comparison to the body of the bass, but don't worry--just add as much detail as you can and make sure they're shaped correctly.
  4. 4
Draw a curvy triangle for the tail fin. It should be connected to the smaller oval from step 1. In the next step you will outline it to make it look like an actual tail.
  5. 5
Outline and add more details to your fish. Make sure to sketch a smooth juncture from the lower body to the tail fin. Give your bass more scales if you want, and then color it in in dark tones like chartreuse.
  6. 6
    Finished.

Forest, olive and sage green with a bit of pale yellow do good. You could all try blending greens and other colors if you want a different shade.
