How to Do the Birthday Card Trick

It's that magic card trick where you pick a card, tell the magician your birthday, and the magician counts out the cards, numbering them up to the number of your birth date. When he has counted out as many as your birthday, it shows the card you picked! This trick is sure to astound anyone who sees it. Here's one way of doing it! Steps

Make sure the top six cards are as follows, from top to bottom: 5 of diamonds, 3 of diamonds, 6 of clubs, 10 of hearts, 8 of clubs, Queen of hearts.

Have your audience (one or two people) take the top six cards off the way they are and pick any one of them.

Have them spell the card in their mind. For every letter they say, have them move the top card to the bottom. For example the 3 of clubs would be: T-H-R-E-E-C-L-U-B-S

Put the pile of six cards back and "shuffle" them into the deck, making sure the top card in the pile of six stays on top

Put your cards in your back pocket, ask the date of birth, and start pulling cards from the BOTTOM.

For the last card, pull out the TOP card and place it face-down on top of the rest. Ask what card your audience picked, then flip the card over.

It should be the card your audience picked!
