This wikiHow will teach you how to contact a seller on eBay before and after you purchase an item, since the process for each is a little different. You can use either the mobile app or a web browser to send the seller a message.
Steps
Contacting the Seller Before Your Purchase
-
1Go to https://www.ebay.com/ in a web browser or open the eBay app. You can use any web browser to do this.
- Log in if necessary. You'll need to be logged in to contact a seller.
-
2Find an item you want to buy. You can browse the Home screen of eBay or you can use the search function to find something specific.Advertisement
-
3Click or tap Contact seller or Contact. On the website, you'll see this to the right of the item's description in a box that contains more information about the seller.
- If you're using the mobile app, scroll down and tap the "About The Seller" section, then you'll see the "Contact" button at the bottom of your screen.
- If you're not logged in, you'll be prompted to log in to continue.[1]
-
4Select Other and Contact Seller. When you first opt to "Contact Seller," you'll first need to look through some articles that may or may not answer your question.
- Marking "Other" will prompt "Contact Seller" to appear as an option.
-
5Type your question, comment, or concern to the seller. This is the message they will see in their Inbox, so make sure to include the item you're looking at purchasing and any other details that may be important.
- Select "Send a copy to my email address" if you want this message sent to your email.
-
6Select Send Message. A copy of the sent message will appear in your "Sent" box in the message center.[2]
Contacting the Seller After Your Purchase
