This wikiHow teaches you how to check website traffic and visitors in Google Analytics using a web browser. If you want to use the mobile app, the steps are the same.
Steps
-
1Go to https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/ and sign in. You can use any web browser to access the Google Analytics dashboard and check your website's visitors.
- For this to work, you must have your website set up with Google Analytics. You cannot view any statistics on a website that doesn't have a Google Analytics tag.
- You can also use the Google Analytics mobile app that's available for free from the Google Play Store or App Store.
- When you open the website, you'll see an overview of what's happening with your website.
-
2Click ▼ next to Behavior. It's on the left side of the page.Advertisement
-
3Click Site Content. You'll see a few graphs of where your site's visitors are coming from, like links from other blogs or a news website, and how long they stay on your site.
- Click through "All Pages," "Content Drilldown," "Landing Pages," and "Exit Pages" to see more specific information about the different areas of your website.
-
4Click Landing Pages. Using an example to find traffic sources from monsterinsights.com, you'll want to select Landing Pages since this is the most common page that your visitors will see.
-
5Click the drop-down menu labeled "Secondary Dimension." You'll see this drop-down menu at the top of the charts and graphs.
-
6Click Acquisition and Source/Medium. The table will change to display the source of your traffic, or where they were before they landed on your page, and the medium, which is how they arrived at your website (paid link or organic content).[1]
