Drampa is a Normal and Dragon-type Pokémon that is brand new for Pokémon Moon, and exclusive to this game. It can definitely be an asset to your team, although it may be difficult to find for some. This wikiHow will explain how to find Drampa in Pokémon Moon.

Steps

  1. 1
Stock up on Pokéballs. Drampa's catch rate is around average (not incredibly high, and not incredibly low) so either Great or Ultra Balls should work well. However, be sure that you stock up on a few of them, in case your first attempt at catching Drampa is unsuccessful.
    • You can also obtain a few quick balls if you'd like to attempt to catch Drampa at the very beginning of the encounter.
  2. 2
Be prepared with Fairy, Ice, Fighting and/or Dragon type Pokémon on your team. Due to Drampa's typing, it is weak to these types of Pokémon, so including one or more of these typings on your team could very likely be beneficial.  [1]

  3. 3
Know where Drampa can be found. In Pokémon Moon, there is one location where you can find Drampa, and that's in the Mount Lanakila Cave located on Ula'Ula Island. Keep in mind, however, that Drampa's encounter rate is relatively low, so you may be searching for a little while.
  4. 4
Go in to the Drampa battle. Try and use Pokémon that match any one of the typings listed above, as this will lower Drampa's health quicker (however, be aware of its health levels so that you don't accidentally make it faint).
    • A Pokémon with False Swipe is also a good bet to use, since it will always leave the Pokémon the move is used on with at least 1 HP.
    • Be aware when using any moves designed to Burn or Poison a Pokémon, as this will gradually reduce Drampa's health. Keep an eye on this if you do use a move like that, and be sure to catch it before it faints.
  5. 5
Throw a Pokéball when Drampa's health is about half or less. As with virtually any Pokémon, Drampa will be easier to catch if its health is lower than half. Once you've caught it, Drampa should either go in to your party if you have room, or it will be sent to a PC box.
    • If you're attempting to use a Quick Ball, however, it's best to throw it immediately when the battle starts.

Warnings

  • Mount Lanakila is relatively close to the end of the game, so you’ll need to make sure your Pokémon are at a relatively high level before encountering Drampa.
