Pay attention even if it's a boring subject. Remember, Hermione listens in History of Magic - a subject no one else can listen to because it is so boring. One thing that works is to be interested in the subject. If you find the subject interesting, it is more likely that you will pay attention in class.

This point is important. When you go to class, try to forget about any friendship problems - even if it's a major fight with Harry and Ron because of your cat.

Yes, in class just jot down bits and pieces of info. Just put in information that you don't know or that you think might come in handy when its time for revision before the exams.
