"Squid Girl" (or, "Shinryaku! Ika Musume") is a manga series by Masahiro Anbe about a squid-girl who emerges from the sea to invade Japan. She doesn't succeed.

Squid Girl, known in Japan as Shinryaku! Ika Musume (侵略!イカ娘?, lit. Invade! Squid Girl) with the subtitle "The invader comes from the bottom of the sea!", is a Japanese manga series by Masahiro Anbe. The story features the eponymous Squid Girl, who emerges from the sea with a love of shrimp and a dream of conquering the entire world. She meets her match at the first hurdle however, and begins working for the 2 Aizawa sisters, Eiko and Chizuru, at their beach-side café, the Lemon Beach House.

  • The manga series of Squid Girl is written by Masahiro Anbe and published by Akita Shoten for the magazine Weekly Shounen Champion. Beginning in July 2007, it is currently ongoing with 19 volumes at present.
  • The Squid Girl anime is directed by Tsutomu Mizushima, written by Michiko Yokote, and produced by the studio Diomédia. The first season ran from October 4, 2010 until December 20, 2010, with 12 episodes. The second series ran from September 26, 2011 until December 26, 2011, also with 12 episodes. Additionally, 3 OVA episodes have been released between August 8, 2012 and September 8, 2014.
