After his father's early death, Tawara Souta returns to Udon Prefecture to sell his family's old house and Udon restaurant. Inside he finds a young boy that later proves to be a shapeshifting tanuki. Souta decides to become that boy's guardian, to protect his secret and while doing that finds his own place in the world.
