Maison Ikkoku (めぞん一刻) is a romantic comedy manga by Rumiko Takahashi that ran from 1980-1987. It was adapted into a 96-episode anime and several OVAs. It follows Godai Yusaku - a college student who falls in love with the new manager of his apartment building, Otonashi Kyoko - as well as the other tenants of the building.
