Excel Saga is a manga series by Rikdo Koshi. An anime adaptation of the series was broadcast in 1999. Both the manga and the anime follow the attempts of the ACROSS organization (the organization the title character Excel belongs to) to conquer Fukuoka, and the attempts of the city's Department of City Security to defend the city against ACROSS.
