"Ef" is a visual novel developed by Minori. It was adapted into two anime series: "Ef: A Tale of Memories" and "Ef: A Tale of Melodies".
Ef is a 2-part adult visual novel developed by Minori and has been adapted into a manga, visual novels, and 2 seasons of anime. It is set in the town of Otowa and the stories of many of its (female) residents are intertwined and linked.
The visual novel was released as Ef - The First Tale, released in December 2006, and Ef: The Latter Tale, released in May 2008. Before the release of the first VN, a manga adaptated from the overall story, written by Mikage and Yuu Kagami, was published in April 2005, followed by a light novel called Ef - A Fairy Tale of the Two Another Tale in July 2006. Two 12-episode seasons of anime were produced by Studio SHAFT and directed by Shin Onuma. The first, titled Ef - A Tale of Memories, aired in October 2007, and the second, titled Ef - A Tale of Melodies, aired in October 2008.
