Bravely Default is a 3DS Game published by Square Enix originally in 2012 in Japan but later re-released in December 2013
Bravely Default, known as Bravely Default: Flying Fairy (ブレイブリーデフォルト フライングフェアリー Bureiburī Deforuto: Furaingu Fearī) in Japan is a Role Playing Games released on Nintendo 3DS by Square Enix.
The story follows the travels for 4 young heroes;
Agnès Oblige, the Wind Vestal who witnessed the Wind Crystal become swallowed in darkness and those around her killed. Hunted by the Duchy of Eternia, she and the cryst-fairy Airy seek to cleanse all the crystals from Darkness.
Edea Lee, Daughter of the Duchy of Eternia's leader, the Templar Breav Lee. She is sent off with the Sky Knights to apprehend Agnès in the Caldis Region, however defects to join Agnès when her strong sense of justice condemns the actions of the Eternian Forces
Ringabel, an amnesiac traveling around the world seducing/charming women. He carries "D's Journal", a book with a D on the cover that seems to predict the future, Ringabel is unsure if he is the writer himself or not however believe the link to his memories lays with the women the writer cared deeply for, Edea.
Tiz Arrior, A young boy from Norende in the Caldis Region, Norende is completely destroyed by mysterious calamity seemingly linked to the tainting of the Crystals. deeply depressed that he was unable to save his young brother Til, Tiz join Agnès in her quest hoping to find answers into hwy Norende was destroyed.
The 4 travel around the world attempting to awaken the 4 Crystals while fighting the forces of the Duchy of Eternia who seeks to spread Anti-Crystalisum, the belief that the Crystals should not be interacted with or relied upon, the opposite to Crystalisum which worships the blessing of the Crystals.
Bravely Default was released in Japan October, 2012. In December 2013 a re-release called Bravely Default: For the Sequel was released in Japan and Europe which was an upgraded version of the original game. it was released in North America in February 2014. In the West, Bravely Default: For the Sequel is just known as either Bravely Default of Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies
A free-to-play web browser game called Bravely Default: Praying Brage was released in November 2012 only in Japanese, it is set 200 years after the event of Bravely Default in which Edea Lee has become the wind vestal to find her friend and predecessor Agnès Oblige, it also features Lilia DeRosso, a character who was hinted at in the previous game.
A true sequel to the game was announced in December 2013. Called Bravely Second, is currently in development for Nintendo 3DS, it was also hinted upon in a bonus teaser that is unlocked after completing the game. Taking place Seven years after the end of the first game, it's believed all the previous main characters will appear (with Tiz and Agnès being confirmed) along with the new addition Magnolia Arch, A "Ba'al Buster" from the moon
