Black Bullet (ブラック・ブレット) is a light novel series written by Shiden Kanzaki.
In a dystopian future, mankind has been pushed to the brink of extinction by the deadly Gastrea virus, which creates monsters of the same name. The last remnants of humanity are forced to live behing huge monoliths made of Varanium, a black metal with Gastrea-repellant properties. Enju Aihara, a girl with superhuman powers due to being partially infected by the Gastrea virus, and Rentaro Satomi, a high school student in a security agency, fight together against the remaining monsters in an attempt to keep the remaining populace safe.
